For high-precision locknuts, the taper angle difference should be <= 0.005 to ensure that the contact area is no less than 90%. 2. The radial runout of the outer taper surface of the locknut relative to the inner hole (commonly referred to as the wall thickness difference) must be highly precise. Otherwise, the rotating shaft will generate a centripetal force due to the runout, causing unstable operation, high vibration, and loud noise. A wall thickness difference of "0" is the ideal state. According to the national standard, the maximum value for bearings with an inner diameter of 65 or less is approximately half of the maximum clearance value of the bearing's specification group, which is the same as the maximum clearance value of grade C precision. Therefore, locknuts that meet the national standard are not suitable for use in high-precision, high-load bearing applications. 3. The straightness of the outer taper surface and the inner hole surface of the locknut must be good, meaning that the positional tolerance must be good and the cylindricality accuracy must be high. The national standard only requires that any single cross-sectional dimension be within the tolerance range to be considered qualified. This results in poor control of the straightness of the outer taper surface, especially when grinding the outer taper surface, if the straightness of the blank is poor or the grinding wheel is not properly dressed, the straightness of the surface will be very poor. The locking function of the locknut's thread with the bearing is achieved by rotating the locknut to axially move and compress the end face of the inner ring of the bearing, thereby compressing the taper of the locknut and the inner hole of the bearing, and fixing the bearing on the rotating shaft. Therefore, the thread fit between the bearing nut and the locknut must be good and meet the national standard requirements for common threads.
